BUFFALO, NY - Burke and I spent July 4th weekend in Buffalo with the Preeces. We had a lot of fun and saw many awesome sights. But best of all was just getting to spend time with Adam, Marci, and the boys.
So we arrived in Buffalo on Thursday night and despite having already eaten dinner, Burke and Adam made a late-night run for some buffalo wings (for those that don't know, buffalo wings were invented in Buffalo, hence the name). By all accounts these were the best wings ever - even surpassing those from the wing-inventing Anchor Bar, which we tried our last night in Buffalo. It felt like we ate a lot over the weekend. Adam even inspired a new verb related to eating - to "McGriddle." You'll have to ask him for the definition.
On the Fourth, we went to the Amherst fireworks at the University of Buffalo. The show was amazing (see picture below) but ended about 4 minutes too soon. Henry was so excited for the fireworks to start ("Come on fireWORKS"), but became so scared that he finished the show curled up underneath a blanket. As we prepared to leave the fireworks, Marci somehow spotted Adam's car keys, which had fallen out of his pocket, laying in the grass. Had she not found them we might still be at the park.

PALMYRA, NY - We went to Palmyra ("The Queen of the Erie Canal Towns") and toured the Church history sites. We went to the temple, the Smith family farm, the Sacred Grove, the Book of Mormon printing shop, and the Hill Cumorah. It was an amazing experience to see so many sacred places.

NIAGARA FALLS, CANADA - We decided to go to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls because we heard that it was better than the U.S. side (plus, Burke wanted to go back home). It was a blast - we walked the board walk and rode the Maid of the Mist. When we left Niagara, Marci took us on a "short-cut" back to the U.S. (a lot of the scenery looked familiar).

Wow, those photos are incredible. I'm ashamed to post ours of our trip now. That is so fun that you guys got to go and see the Preeces, I can't believe Marci saw the keys in the grass....that could've really ruined your day.
How fun! I love the pics of Niagara falls. You look great- I love your hair!
Those are some awesome pictures you guys took. I love looking at them. Someone has a knack for talent in photography. That's so great that you had a good time and got some good sight seeing in.
Hey Sis! Your trip looked like so much fun! I miss you and love you!
Haley- How are you? You look so good. I found your blog off of Sarah and Jason's blog. (I was best friends with Sarah's older sis in high school. Small world) It has been so long since I've talked to you. Looks like you and Burke are having a lot of fun back east.
Hey guys, Marci tells me you are talking almost every night. You'd better keep it up for her sake. She's needy of lovin and attention. Marci says we might throw a girls trip together for September. Hay, you in?
Happy Anniversary to you! Has Burke started school yet? I can't believe he is on his last year.
Hi...this is Allyson, the random girl at the barbecue (Ryan's cousin's wife). Anyway, I found your guys' blog through Ryan and Taryn's and I just need to APOLOGIZE for "throwing down the gauntlet"/bragging up Kevin's mad golf skills.:) He said he played REALLY bad today...{emphasis on the REALLY}. So I stand corrected. But it was fun meeting you guys! Hope to see you again!
It looks like you guys are having a blast! You look so darling! We need to get together next time you are in town for a mother daughter date like old times. You can find me at marcusandtanaya.blogspot.com
